There are many ways to increase property value and they don’t always mean you have to spend a lot of money. In fact, there are plenty of ways to increase it with minor alterations and for a fraction of the cost. Here is a brief blog on exactly that! Have any tips that have worked for you? Feel free to let us know and we’ll look to include them in future articles.
- Keep it neutral. One of the most trying tasks of cleaning up your property will always be painting… Believe it or not, having a neutral tone to the property (for the cost of some paint) is a great asset. It helps potential buyers see the property in a different light instead of in your taste (however great that may be!) It also makes the room look bigger
- Create space. Space is highly sought after when buying a property. No one wants to have too little. So consider losing anything that hides the potential of the property. Depersonalise and declutter!
- Take care of the outside. In the UK, it’s no surprise that the external of our properties do take a beating now and again, which if given the chance to build up, can cause issues. Clear your gutters, jet wash your walls and anything you need to, in order to give your property a fresh look.
- Spruce up your door. Often the first impression someone will get is from your front door. Is rust setting in, is it old, damaged, dirty? This is a simple and often cost effective way to giving your property a makeover.
- Fixtures & fittings. Similarly to sprucing up your entrance, something as simple as changing standard light fittings to an upgraded version can really change the look of a room.
- Make the minor repairs you’ve been putting off for the longest time! These range from holes in walls, broken door knobs, cracked tiles etc... The sooner you rectify these minor defects, the better!
So there you have it, just a few things you can do to help raise the value of your property without completely breaking the bank!
